Content

In the Byzantine empire there has been a crisis concerning painted images in churches; one ought to try to analyze the reasons in order to understand the empire’s history. In addition, study will be devoted to find relations with mosaic decorations, pagan motives and the theology of the cross.

Scope

Explain the origins, operation, decisions and aftermath of this Council.
