  • Oriental collections up to John the Scholastic.
  • The work of John the Scholastic.
  • From the first Nomocanon; Syntax of Title XIV and Nomocanon of Title XIV in Kormčajakniga.
  • The canonical situation of the mission of Cyril and Methodius between Constantinople and Rome.
  • Reflections on the Bulgarian question, on the Foziano crisis and the position of the clergy of the French Empire regarding the missionary and canonical activity of Cyril and Methodius.
  • Nomocanon of Methodius, Syntax of Methodius: the time of its genesis.
  • The motive for the abbreviation of the Syntax of Methodius.
  • Gloss of St. Emmeram.
  • Judicial law for the people–Zakonsudnyjljudem.
  • Anonymous homily in the manuscript of Cloz.
  • Penitential practice in canonical, legislative, and liturgical literature of the period of Cyril and Methodius.

Objective

This seminar will examine the Slavic sources, their development in various stages from the beginning until the mission of Cyril and Methodius. In particular, the Oriental canonical collections will be presented in their historical context.
