Renata Caruso was born in Italy. After completing her high school diploma in Italy, she obtained a diploma in Russian at the Institute of Culture and Russian Language in Rome. Later she went to study in the Russian Federation, where she obtained a degree in Russian and technical translation at the State University of St. Petersburg, where she also gained various technical, commercial and juridical specializations. After returning to Italy, she graduated in Political Science at the University “La Sapienza” of Rome. She continued her studies at the Pontifical Oriental Institute in Rome, where she obtained a licentiate and doctorate in Oriental Ecclesiastical Sciences, She currently teaches Russian, Italian and History of Eastern Europe at the Pontifical Oriental Institute.
